What are you asking? Why you haven’t had back pay from Jan to April? If that’s the case then it is because the backpay is only backdated to April the same as any other government department.

Sorry. To be clear. I’ve had the back pay to April of 2% so that is fine. I haven’t however had the increment from pay point 1 to pay point 2. Shared services say this is because my start date was 1st Jan 2018 and I needed to be in post on 31st Dec 2017. I’m wondering where the December 31st date comes from as the pay policy stipulates “New entrants to NOMS must be in post for at least three months prior to the date of the pay award (1 April) to receive a pay progression. If they are outside of this period, they will not be eligible to receive pay progression until the following year’s pay award.” I would have thought 1st Jan is 3 months prior to 1st April as I had completed 3 full months by 1st April?

1st January is 3 months but not "at least 3 months" as stated in the pay award policy. They have always used the 31st December as the "at least" 3 months date.

Legally on the 1st April you hadn't been employed for over 3 months, on the 2nd April you had.

As above, you wouldn't have a leg to stand on legally, they have you on a technicality.

Screwed mine up! Suppose to be .75% one off & back pay for 2% to May for me (£167+£171 so £338 Gross)! Given £19 unsocial £115 Arrears then a minus of -£57 miscellaneous gross! To top that they then took Extra tax of -£9, Extra -£14 NI & Extra -£21 Pension! 5 months and a £1🙄 be calling the wall on Monday (bloody incompetent)

We were told that they took a payment off everyone and it will be refunded next month, something to do with the next tax bracket which is bollocks as far as I know as most officers pay is no where near that cut off.

I was told the same along with I'd have paid extra in to my pension. Personally I'd liked to have the option of how I was paid as I'm sure others would have as well. Either way you're going to pay extra and over the year it all levels out on tax anyway. As for extra paid to my pension, it wouldn't have been much more than the extra £20 I paid in anyway.

The money they took off you will be returned too you at the end of this month it was deducted to avoid larger pension payment so eventhough some prior notice would have been good they were actually looking out for us
