I have to admit this is one thing that worries me and make me wonder why kettles are still allowed inside cells

I must admit I thought of asking that question. After reading about jugging. I did wonder why they allowed kettles and brew packs in cells. seems like incidents waiting to happen in so many ways. Self harm, attacks on prisoners and staff.

It’s a valid point but unfortunately due to their rights and you can’t, some establishments have a communal boiler so they don’t need kettles in the cells, but they have to have access to hot water so there is no way to stop this. Besides you take hot water and the little diamonds would just find something else to lob At you, piss and shit, bleach and cleaning products.
I thought regulating the temp was a good idea. They can have luke warm water, hot enough for a brew to be ‘enjoyable’ but not too hot to cause as serious damage.

SOAD,
That sounds like a good idea but I suppose it's all costs. 😒

I know, biggest barrier to get over is the cost. Although I don’t think you should have a price on safety of staff.

SOAD,
Totally agree. Maybe less officers would leave the service if there was consideration placed in their safety.
