Didn't mention you by name but does state that there have been difficulties recruiting. Frightening statistics though, 1 in 3 new recruits will quit with first 2 years!

That's worse staff turnover than McDonald's. SO at my establishment told us how worried he was for future, 2500 new officers needed by end if 2018, but 8000 needed within next 3 years to replace retirees, I ask how training would cope and he thinks HMPPS will cope but SSCL willl fuck it up

Just watched this on YouTube, insightful look at early life as an officer. Having watched it I'm now more convinced I'm making the right choice in career moves.

That should be the follow up question to the ministers!

That should be the follow up question to the ministers! I see on occasion prison officers who work at the establishment I will start at. They tell me that there are up to 10 new starters on a monthly basis coming thru the doors. Which is great on the face of it. But they don`t have the resources to mentor these starters how they would like. Its fucking crazy. They are losing them as quickly as they are being recruited. Looks like somebody in an office ticking fucking boxes and saying " look i`ve kept my side of the deal" arse wipes!!

Agreed. I feel more confident in my decision and am really looking forward to POELT on the 16th now. Just want to get stuck in!
Seemed a good programme really, could almost have done with a few more episodes.

Merged the 2 threads.
I liked the part where the Submariner claimed he didn’t know why the prisoner told him he could shove a shampoo bottle up his “anal passage”.... whatever sailor boy 😂😂😂

Decent watch. As mentioned they should make a series of it.

A good find 👍🏻. Nice to have some ‘up to date’ viewing, as opposed to the Belmarsh documentary which is older than me.
